Häfele invests in Romania

(02/11/2009) Häfele GmbH & Co KG, the hardware and electronic locking systems specialist with its headquarters in Nagold, Germany has opened a branch office in the Romanian market and integrated Minervacom S.R.L. into the international Häfele Group. Minervacom is a highly successful Romanian supplier of high end hardware technology. Häfele Romania S.R.L. commenced operation on November 1, 2009 with
36 employees. The offices of the new subsidiary are located in the western Romanian metropolitan area of Timisoara (Temeswar). Timisoare is the second largest city in Romania.

With the takeover of Minervacom, Häfele assumes a strong and highly ambitious sales force with proven credentials in the hardware industry, excellent broad and direct contacts within the industry and trade, as well as numerous offices in all regions of the country. The combination of this national distribution network and Häfele’s well known strengths in the industry around the world provides the 34th subsidiary excellent opportunities for a strong start. It is Häfele’s goal to advance to the market leadership position in the mid to high-end hardware industry in Romania within a few years. The Romanian market, with over 21 million residents, offers significant potential growth opportunities; especially in the areas of furniture manufacturing industries and contract business.
